Conceptual Photographic Series: "Heightened Reality” or "A Moment of Joy”
US$1,500
Over a month
OVERVIEW Create a conceptual photographic series of 6-8 images, responding to the theme of "Heightened Reality” or "A Moment of Joy”. Theme will be determined by your Creative Director! This brief challenges you to think about how you can use photography to see life differently into a world of heightened reality. You’re encouraged to think outside of the box and think of unique ways to capture this feeling. We’re looking for a thoughtful visual narrative. Think about how form, lighting, colour, angles, subject, movement or space can be used to transform the ordinary to extraordinary. Focus on using techniques that help you elevate your images. The images must be cohesive and work together as a series, but we also want each individual image to shine in its own right. These could be used as standalone images for community activities, as a postcard series, or for events. SCOPE The selected creator will be responsible for: - Creating a shoot concept that responds the the brief’s theme. - Creating a mini treatment doc (delivered as a PDF); more details below. - Shooting your project. - Retouching final images (6-8 total) and delivering them. The final selected and retouched images will be delivered as full sized Hi-res TIFFs & JPGs in CMYK, RGB and sRGB formats. Images can be shot in portrait or landscape and we would like them delivered in vertical crops of 2x3, 4x5, 1x1 and 9x16. Keep this in mind when shooting. The mini treatment doc (PDF) should include: - A short about/artist bio. - An overview of your approach and ideas in response to the brief’s theme. - A visual moodboard/visual references. - Your lighting approach (this can be in studio, natural light, a lamp at home or whatever is accessible to you). - Any specific thoughts or techniques you’d like to use with your editing to push the concept. - Any other key information that makes clear your idea and how you’ll create your series. - *Please note this doesn’t need to be extensive. You can use bullet points and imagery to help explain. Please keep in mind the purpose of the treatment is for us to understand how you plan to action the shoot! THEME & DIRECTION If you're working with Justin Bettman, the theme is: Heightened Reality. Keep it conceptual, cohesive and unexpected. If you're working with Christina Poku or Aaron Bernstein, the theme is: A Moment of Joy. Keep it conceptual, cohesive and unexpected. PROCESS/TIMELINE - Project kickoff call - Create and send treatment in for review - Feedback on treatment - Shoot - Send in options for approval of selects - Retouching selects - R1 feedback on retouched images - R2 feedback if further retouching needed - Any final revisions & asset delivery BUDGET $1500 - This includes all creative work, file exports, revisions, and communication. Payment will be made upon final delivery of approved assets. HUMAN-MADE CREATIVITY We love seeing original, human-made creativity shine through in all commissioned work created with Adobe tools. While generative AI can be a helpful part of the creative process, it should only play a supporting role—unless the project brief specifically says otherwise. All AI-assisted elements must be transparently disclosed. CREATIVE DIRECTOR Apply to this project for an opportunity to work with one of our Creative Directors! - Justin Bettman @justinbettman - Aaron Bernstein @hungry.boy - Christina Poku @christinapoku

Visual Assets Set for the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship Program
US$1,000
Within the next few weeks
OVERVIEW We’re looking for a freelance graphic designer or illustrator to create a set of visual assets for the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship Programme. The visual identity & language of these assets should be inspired by the thing that gets us out of bed in the morning—the creative spark. This project invites you to interpret your own creative spark and translate it into a cohesive set of visual assets. We’re looking for something personal and expressive. Work that pays homage to what inspires your own creativity and inspiration, while resonating with a new generation of emerging creatives. The end goal is to create visual assets that feel energising, human, and inspiring to encourage other programme participants to connect with their own unique creativity. PROJECT SCOPE The selected creator will be responsible for: - Brainstorming and researching for the illustrative or design approach - Designing a visual identity & language for the following assets: - An illustrated Adobe A asset - A set of 3 digital assets / illustrations to accompany the A. These could be used in several placements and activities, such as digital stickers and emojis on the Creative Apprenticeship Discord server / in presentations, etc. - A poster design with print-ready artwork, following the theme “Creative Spark”. **Note: These assets should all use the same design approach, visual language and illustrative style (if applicable). This should be treated like a brand identity for Adobe that captures “The Creative Spark.”* - Providing initial concepts for review (these can be written, sketches, or presented in a deck, as long as the visual language and direction are clear). - Conducting 1-2 rounds of revisions based on feedback. - Communicating clearly with stakeholders to ensure alignment. - Delivering final assets in required formats/sizes. TARGET AUDIENCE Our target audience consists of students and the next generation of creative professionals! They are aspiring graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, videographers, creative directors, animators, etc. THEME & DIRECTION The central theme for this project is The Creative Spark, AKA, that personal moment that ignites your creativity. This spark might be a feeling, a ritual, a memory, an observation, a sound, a place. There isn’t one “correct” interpretation. We encourage designers to explore what their creative spark looks like to them and express it visually in a way that feels authentic and personal. This could be abstract or literal, playful or reflective, bold or subtle, just make sure that it feels intentional and thoughtful. The concepts for your interpretation of this brief should be justified and well thought-out. Visually, we’re looking for work that feels: - Expressive and human - Energetic, optimistic and inspiring - Rooted in storytelling and personal perspective - Designed with a clear point of view While the deliverables should feel cohesive as a set, we’re excited to see unique interpretations and unexpected ideas, since everyone finds their creative spark in different places. The kind of work that captures the feeling of why we create in the first place. The designer (AKA you) should feel empowered to bring their own creative voice and experiences to the project. GUIDELINES While you have creative freedom with this project, we do have a few important guidelines – - No profanity or inappropriate content. - The final deliverable should have a cohesive design/direction and not feel mismatched. - Use colours that feel bright, bold, and optimistic. IDEAL TIMELINE - Project kickoff call - Send initial concept directions for review - Send the first draft - Final revisions and delivery deadline ** Note: Dates will be determined in the KO call once a candidate is selected. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BUDGET: $1000 – This includes all creative work, file exports, revisions, and communication. CREATIVE DIRECTOR Apply to this project for an opportunity to work with Morgan Hastie (@thelogolassie)!

Photoshop (Beta) Splash Screen
US$2,000
Within the next few weeks
Project Overview: We’re launching a monthly Photoshop (Beta) splash screen spotlight and we want to invite members of the Photoshop community to submit artwork to be featured for about one month at a time. The artist (you!) will also have the chance to be featured on Adobe's social channels. The splash screen is the first thing users see when they launch Photoshop, so it’s a high visibility placement. This allows us to celebrate your work while also providing fresh content for the Photoshop (Beta) app splash screen. Submissions for splash screen consideration should follow the guidelines below. Images should: -Be your original creation (own or have rights to everything in the image). -Represent the core value prop of Photoshop which is to empower people to be able to create anything they can imagine – illustrate the depth and breadth of what’s possible with Photoshop – this means images should be a combination of photos and graphics that are composited together using layers resulting in an image uniquely done in Photoshop. -Images should inspire users, by being high quality, professional level outputs. -Appeal to a global audience. Avoid anything that is too narrow or with distinct regional meaning which may be confusing or alienating to people. -Avoid topics or content that may have or imply negative connotations to a subset of users. -No text or copy in the image. IMPORTANT --- Images can be made using generative AI or AI sparingly, but should be 80%+ an original asset. Ultimately we want to be able to showcase images that we can confidently say are people's original creations created using Photoshop, and not completely created using AI. Target Audience: Seasoned creative professionals, tech forward, engaged photoshop users, pp and coming creative professionals Required deliverable from artist: -1500 × 666 PNG (plus layered PSD optional but recommended for safe edits) -Filename: FirstLast-Title.png -No text, no logos, globally appropriate, no sensitive/negative topics -Original work only; AI allowed sparingly (creator confirms 80%+ original assets + discloses use)

D&AD New Blood Poster Series
US$1,000
In a month
*Note: Immediate need! We're looking to find the right candidates and kickoff the week of May 4. Only open to UK-based applicants. OVERVIEW We’re looking for 3 UK-based emerging creatives to create an original poster that will be displayed at D&AD New Blood Festival in London this upcoming summer as part of our Adobe/Adobe Creative Apprenticeship program presence. We are ideally looking for artists in the area of graphic design. This includes mixed media, analogue processes, and digital techniques. But please note that files will be passed off digitally. PROJECT SCOPE The selected creative will be responsible for: - Brainstorming and researching a design approach rooted in the prompt - Designing a poster with print-ready artwork for display/distribution at D&AD New Blood - Providing initial concepts for review (these can be written, sketches, or presented in a deck, as long as the visual language and direction are clear) - Conducting 1-2 rounds of revisions based on feedback - Communicating clearly with stakeholders to ensure alignment - Delivering final assets in required formats/sizes TARGET AUDIENCE The audience consists of recent graduates in creative disciplines from all across the UK – early-career creative professionals across design, photography, video, and digital media. THEME & DIRECTION: Brutalist maximalism The poster should visualise the "gravity" of creativity and celebrate the intersection of heavy architecture and street-like artistry. It’s not a light, airy thing; in a city like London, creativity is forged through pressure, history, and grit. Heavy shapes, deep textures, and a sophisticated colour story. The texture should feel intentional - like "designed decay”. The design should look like a sandwich of materials. Raw, layered, and unapologetically urban while maintaining a high-end art direction. Tactile brutalism. We’d love to see the friction between digital precision and analogue mess. If you can, use high-res scans of real London textures: damp concrete, rusted metal from the underground. Sharp typography that sits on top, creating a contrast between the messy city and the clean design mind. It should also include some striking colours. Please look at the London colour palette of the everyday: the red of the buses, the yellow of the Southbank Centre, or the vibrant colours of Ridley Road Market. It should feel intentional. The goal is to move away from clean, corporate minimalism and embrace tactile brutalism. ** References and copy will be shared in the KO call. GUIDELINES While you have creative freedom with this project, we do have a few important guidelines: - Please use only Adobe tools - No profanity or inappropriate content - The final deliverable should feel cohesive and intentional - Print-ready for 24”x36" dimensions, which would be scaled down for a limited print run of posters (11”x17”) - Posters will be digitally printed in full color - Plan to include the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship logo and an artist callout (your name and IG handle) at the bottom - Include defined copy on the poster (confirm copy with your Creative Director) PROCESS/TIMELINE Final delivery will be due May 29 (hard deadline for print). Consult with your Creative Director to confirm milestones along the way, including: - Kickoff call - Send initial concept directions for review - Feedback round 1 - Feedback round 2 BUDGET $1000 - This includes all creative work, file exports, revisions, and communication. CREATIVE DIRECTOR Apply to this project for an opportunity to work with Marija Marc (@marijamarc)!
